Insuring Ohio Futures

On March 19, 2013, Ohio insurance professionals, experts from local universities and colleges, and the State of Ohio, officially launched the expanded version of, a website focused on promoting insurance career awareness, education and resources for students, mid-career professionals and veterans.

In conjunction with the updated site's unveiling, the Insuring Ohio Futures campaign also launched. Insuring Ohio Futures exists to promote the site and new initiative to fill the growing talent gap within the insurance insurance.

Jim Clay, Westfield Group Leader & CEO, commented in a recent article in Insurance Networking News that the strength of the insurance industry was cultivated by the baby boomer generation. Now, it's time to begin educating and recruiting a new generation of professionals.

Students have access to a variety of career resources, including information on available internships, potential career pathways in insurance and more. Helpful tools include a Career Survey and the Ask A Pro program. The Career Survey helps young adults match their interests and personality traits to a career pathway, while Ask a Pro connects students with insurance professionals who are available to answer questions related to the industry, their career experiences and day-to-day job activities.

Students can also watch video interviews to learn more about what it's like to work in insurance, and hear about the paths real professionals took that led them to their careers.

Insuring Ohio Futures also provides information on making a career change into the insurance industry. This page offers educational and job resources, as well as video interviews for mid-career professionals considering a new career path. These visitors can also access the Ask a Pro program to inquire about the professional experiences of real insurance professionals in the line of work they look to enter.

If you're considering a switch to insurance, be sure to check out the Insurance Career Survey to learn more about a possible pathway that matches your skill sets and interests.

The Veterans page takes a look at "military skills that easily transfer to insurance careers." The Veteran Video Interviews feature Tod Carmony, president & CEO of Wayne Insurance Group and past major general of the Army National Guard.

Visit to see if insurance is the right fit for you.
