Last week, Morgan Flood, a junior at Penn Manor High School, appeared on "Jeopardy!" Teen Tournament. She competed against two other students: junior Kevin Yang of Birmingham, AL, and senior Caleb Olson of Chariton, IA. Flood took second place in the tournament, which included a $5,000 prize.
About 20,000 students applied to be contestants for the show. Of those, 300 were called in for an audition, and only 15 made the final cut. Flood was one of the finalists, and went on to tape the tournament in February. The five winners will go on to Washington D.C. for the finals, competing for a $75,000 prize. There is also wildcard spot available for the second-place winners.
Flood has previous experience doing trivia on camera; she is captain of the Penn Manor quiz bowl team, and has appeared on Westfield Insurance-sponsored quiz show, Brain Busters, which airs on WGAL.
