Students from West Perry and Eastern Lebanon County (ELCO) high schools competed Saturday, October 20, 2012 on the Westfield Insurance-sponsored quiz show Brain Busters.
The new season is off to an exciting start, with these two teams going head-to-head in the third challenge of the year. West Perry began to take the lead, but the team was in for a surprise during the bonus round. Intensity began to rise as the ELCO team started to make a comeback. “This game had a nail-biting ending, with only a 15-point lead for the winners,” said host Rich Rosen.
Although West Perry started out on top, ELCO came out as this challenge's champion, scoring 245 points. West Perry still finished strong, with 230 points.
As the season continues, the winning teams from each episode will go on to the Final Challenge. Be sure to join in the fun, and watch teams from Cumberland Valley and Delone Catholic schools compete in the next episode on October 27! Episodes air afternoons on WGAL-TV, Channel 8 at 1 p.m.
