Due to inexperience on the road, teen drivers are easily distracted. Unfortunately, teens are more likely than other age groups to be involved in deadly accidents.
As our latest effort to support and educate teens on safe driving practices, Westfield Insurance is proud to partner with the Montville Township Police Department, Ehrbar Angels Foundation, MStar Foundation and Bill Doraty Kia in the sponsorship of a new teen defensive driving program, "Take Control."
Take Control Teen Driving Program
Etablished to help local parents and teens “take control” of safe driving, the three-hour defensive driver-training program includes hands-on and classroom instruction on collision avoidance, emergency breaking, skid recovery and more. It is a revised version of the existing Medina County Juvenile Diversion program, which teens are required to complete following their first citation.
"Take Control" will be taught by certified police officer instructors, and made available (free of cost) to local teens between the ages of 16 and 19. Starting June 15, 2013, the course will be held on the third Saturday of every month at Westfield Insurance in Westfield Center, Ohio. Space is limited. Click here for registration details.
"As an insurance company Westfield can repair cars, but we can't bring back those who have lost their lives in a crash," says Ed Largent, Westfield Insurance leader and president. "That is why Westfield is pleased to be involved in this partnership, which may prevent teen crashes in the first place."
